MEET THE MAGICK BEHIND THE UNFAMILIAR HOUR
I'm Naoimi (she/her) & I'm the editor of The Unfamiliar Hour. As a journalist, I am constantly fascinated by the world around me. And when I starting reading more into witchcraft & paganism, I was amazed. I had found that already aligned with my beliefs, and all I wanted to do was to learn more. But like with anything new, it can seem a bit daunting. I wanted to create a space for people like myself, to learn about the craft, without it being too overwhelming. And luckily for me, I met others who also shared this vision.
As well as guiding you through the craft, we also want to share the tales that have come before. Folklore in itself is a magical tool; for we are the stories we tell ourselves.

Hi! I'm Orion (she/her) & I'm the Art Director at the Unfamiliar Hour. Witchcraft has interested me for years now and I've always been very curious about Wicca and Neo-Paganism, so when Naoimi approached me with the idea of creating a magazine on the topic, I jumped at the chance and got stuck straight in.
This is my first experience in an artistic role and I can't wait to get started. I'll also be learning about the craft along with you as we write and publish articles and I'm beyond excited! I'm also finally investing in myself and learning how witchcraft can help in my journey of self-care, self-love, and self-discovery. More than anything, I'm going to be learning how we can make this magazine the very best it can be. I can't wait to take you along on this journey with us!
I’m Jess (she/her) & I’m the social media manager and features editor. I was invited into this team by Orion & Naoimi and I am so glad they did! I believe in this magazine; I think it has so much potential as it is genuine. It’s not jumping on a trend, or trying to be something it’s not, it just wants to unite lots of curious people and feed that curiosity.
I myself am in that boat, I am so curious. When I put out content, most likely I am learning that stuff with you. I love listening to other people’s stories and perspectives, that is what the Unfamiliar Hour is all about.
I have always been very invested in looking after my mind, body, and soul. I have practised certain rituals and believed in things all my life, that as I learned more about Wicca, realised that was what I was following. And every day as I learn more about Wicca, I relate more to it.
My ambitions with The Unfamiliar Hour are to learn and share. I am incredibly interested in writing about the crossover between sex and witchcraft. I plan to explore, through this magazine, the ways we can improve and empower our sexuality in alignment with the Wiccan practises.
I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I already am.
